Reading and Audition Notice

Wanted 8 men and 7 women! (Some roles may be either)

‘Witness for the Prosecution’ by Agatha Christie

There will be a reading of this play on Wednesday June 13th at 7.30 pm at the Theatre at 420 Kent Street.

Auditions will be held at the Genesian Theatre Kent Street on Saturday 16th Junefrom 12.30pm and Tuesday 19th from 7pm

This is a classic whodunit with the Old Bailey as a centrepiece to the production.

Director Henry Jennings, who last year directed “Private Lives “for the Genesian Theatre, will be back in the hot seat.

Auditions will be from the script.

Carter-Barrister’s Clerk-Middle aged perhaps

Mayhew-A solicitor-Serious

Leonard Vole-The accused-Good looking and charismatic

Sir Wilfrid Robarts-Defence counsel-Tired, cynical, very intelligent

Inspector Hearne-A policeman

Romanie-Vole’s wife and glamorous partner-femme fatale

Clerk of the Court

Justice Wainwright-The Judge

Myers QC-Prosecuting counsel

Barristers-various

Dr Wyatt-Police surgeon

Janet Mackenzie-housekeeper-Middle aged and sensible.

Clegg-Lab assistant

The other woman-pretty and naive

Rehearsals will take place three times a week at the Marrickville Rehearsal Space on two evenings and a weekend morning depending on cast commitments.

Not all actors will be required at all rehearsals and the performance dates are Fridayand Saturday nights and Sunday matinee from September 8th to October 20th.
